The Gardens

Set in 4 acres on the edge of a valley, the gardens incorporate lawns, and borders, wild wooded areas as well as a walled kitchen garden. Rooted in its surrounding landscape, the gardens are tranquil and yet alive with wildlife – badgers and foxes, deer and rabbits as well as all kinds of bird life - You will fall asleep to the sound of hooting tawny owls while our resident chattering Jackdaws are a delight to wake up to.

The Swimming Pond and Woods

Our wild swimming pond is filled by a tributary of the river Hayle and was created when the house was built in the 19th Century, relax on our deck or use the steps for that cold water invigorating swim. You might see Kingfishers and dragonflies, buzzards and sometimes even deer. Explore the woods and tumbling waterfalls within the grounds and feel at home surrounded by nature.

The Kitchen Garden

The walled kitchen garden has been carefully restored, although as all gardeners know – it is a constant work in progress! It is also the source of much of our fruit and vegetables and is also home to A small orchard of apple, pear, quince and medlar trees, and our resident hens. The chicken run borders the kitchen garden.
