“Hello, I’m Amanda and together with my husband Dan, we look forward to welcoming you to our home here in the west of Cornwall. Having spent many years at Designers Guild - living a stylish, seasonal and colourful life is simply in my blood.
Over the last few years here at Trenoweth, which we are lucky to call home, we have embraced the landscape that surrounds us, the extraordinary local produce that Cornwall has to offer and lived with the seasons and nature’s timetable – reflecting all of it in our home and the way we live. Both of us are passionate cooks and foodies and having hosted numerous events and supper clubs over the years, we love nothing more than welcoming friends and guests to Trenoweth and sharing our own special corner of Cornwall with them.”
We host a series of events at Trenoweth from relaxed supper clubs to more formal private dinners for up to 12 guests. In addition, we host several select, intimate seasonal residential courses with some of our talented friends and special guests; helping us to celebrate the season and where you can learn, be inspired and of course – Relax.
Think of them as restorative long weekends away with the added bonus of learning new skills and ideas for making life more rewarding and inspiring.

About Us
Amanda Back
With over 35 years of experience in Brand Management, Amanda worked for many years at Designers Guild as Head of Communications.
Working closely with Tricia Guild and the creative and marketing team, she passionately drove the brand’s DNA to a global audience directing all PR and brand marketing. She has written 5 books with Tricia, capturing the spirit and ethos of what makes a colourful and stylish interior and lifestyle.
Amanda is a true creative with an attention to detail that feels effortless and comfortable in everything she does. She melds her love of people, place and nature into her home, and reflects this in her food – she has a passion for cooking. Great meals is just one of the ways you will be welcomed by this host.
Dan Back
Dan began his career with the legendary garden designer Arne Maynard and for the last 20 years has built up his own design practice. His work includes country estates in the UK and overseas well as smaller town and urban spaces. Structure, seasonality and a focus on indigenous planting ensures his gardens stand the test of time as well as celebrating seasonal variations. A keen surfer, fisherman and swimmer, he is also an avid lover of nature and wildlife; his genuine fascination and knowledge of the flora and fauna that surround him feeds his creativity and work.

Dinner at the Vicarage
We are delighted to collaborate with Taor McDougall of Potluck Cornwall regularly. She is a one -woman dynamo of energy and joy and with her supper clubs, she gathers people together throughout the Duchy to discover the best foodie hotspots. We always look forward to hosting supper clubs with her and her fabulous members.
